PPS Plan Reviewer and Inspector- Mechanical, Plumbing, or Electrical: Job Description
Are you an experienced mechanical, plumbing, or electrical inspector with a keen eye for detail and a strong knowledge of codes and regulations? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where you can ensure compliance and contribute to the success of construction projects? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you!
What You’ll Do:
- Perform systematic site inspections of mechanical, plumbing, or electrical trades work for new and existing construction, ensuring compliance with city, county, state, and federal codes.
- Verify compliance with approved mechanical, plumbing, or electrical permits, plans, and specifications; review and approve work on completed projects.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, architects, homeowners, and internal support to ensure documentation is completed and permits/licenses are approved.
- Review and interpret blueprints and construction plans for mechanical, plumbing, or electrical work, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Identify and address compliance issues, issue code violations, and conduct re-inspections to ensure corrections are made and compliance is achieved.
- Maintain and update inspection files, records, and reports, ensuring thorough documentation of activities and findings.
- Stay informed on trends and regulatory developments, attending continuing education courses for re-certification.
What We’re Looking For:
- Certified General Contractor, Architect, or Engineer in the State of Florida, with mechanical, plumbing, or electrical Inspector and Plans Examiner licenses in Florida required.
- Mechanical, plumbing, or electrical Inspector and Plans Examiner certification in Florida and Miami-Dade County required.
- A valid Florida driver’s license is required.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, or electrical construction processes, including plans review, permitting, and inspections.
- Excellent skills in reviewing and interpreting construction plans and codes, and presenting written reports and modifications.
- Ability to manage records, use office equipment and software applications, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Experience in plans review oversight and development of modifications to ensure code compliance.
